HEiKA Board of Directors
The Heidelberg Karlsruhe Strategic Partnership (HEiKA) encompasses all joint bilateral activities of KIT and Heidelberg University. The focus of the collaboration is on research, teaching, innovation and promotion of young talent. The Board of Directors leads the reserach bridges which stimulate exchange on scientific direction, new research topics, and perspecitves on joint research projects. Since 2016, two early career researchers have been appointed as advisory members of the board.

KIT 2025 strategy
The overarching KIT 2025 strategy outlines the way for the years to come with focus on research, teaching, and innovation as well as on early career researchers, administration, governance, and internationalization. YIN members have been part of the lead projects addressing the merger of research and teaching (Aiko Voigt) and career pathways for junior scientists (Kathrin Valerius).

Excellence Strategy of the Federal and the State governments
The Federal Government and the Federal States are strengthening cutting-edge research at German universities under the umbrella of the Excellence Strategy. Funding is provided to Clusters in selected fields of research and to Universities of Excellence. YIN members have been part of the sounding board reviewing KIT's application, have participated in preparatory workshops and played a major role at the on-site visit.
