Funding opportunities the Karlsruhe House of Young Scientists (KHYS) offers to group leaders:
- Aspirant Grant: You are interested in a PhD student from abroad joining your group? This grant allows you to invite the aspirant in questions to KIT for a one-month-period to find out if he or she will fit in. KHYS will cover the travel and subsistence expenses up to €1.000. (continual application, next decision in May/June 2017)
- Research Travel Grant: Send your PhD student or postdoc abroad to gain experience and insights. KHYS subsidizes travel and living expenses for a research stay at a university or company abroad lasting a period of three to six months. (Next call early in 2018)
- Internship Grant: This grant offers your doctoral researchers the opportunity to supervise a Master's student from abroad during a six to twelve-week internship at KIT. It covers travel traveling costs and a subsistence allowance of € €162.50 a week. (Next call late in 2017)
- Networking Grant: One of your PhD students wants to independently establish beneficial international contacts by visiting a renowned researcher or working group related to his/her PhD project? KHYS offers extensive assistance and financial support with a travel subsidy of up to €1,500. (Next call early in 2018)
